Possess the Land || Room to Dream
The widening of Puainako Street has been considered by the County for decades. Since this would mean the loss of some of the Puainako frontage, the church administrators anticipated that additional land would need to be acquired. In 2011, three properties adjacent to the church at the corner of Kilauea Avenue and Puainako Street were purchased. See the light green shaded area on the aerial map below.
At the time, the widening was expected to happen at the end of the 2010s. The Possess the Land, Room to Dream fundraising campaign was launched in November 2011 at the 65th anniversary of the church’s founding. The campaign continues to this day. Maybe you've seen the banner for this campaign hanging in the back of the auditorium.
In 2015, our church hired an architect/consultant from Lifeway. He came up with a Masterplan for our church property that addressed every ministry need we had at the time. Below are concept drawings from the Masterplan. These concepts were met with much excitement from the Kino'ole Baptist Church Members. Does it excite you?
